Shaun the Sheep Takes Over London
SHAUN IN THE CITY is Aardman’s newest exhibition that is taking over London. The British animation company has invited various artists to design giant Shaun the Sheep to be displayed across London and Bristol. After the exhibition, the sheep will be auctioned with the profits going to charity. This is a follow up from Aardman's previous 2013 exhibition, Gromit Unleashed, where a massive £2.3m was raised for Bristol’s Children’s Hospital.
I had an hour to spare in London on Wednesday and so I decided to see if I could find any Shauns myself. I found this little one next to the London Palladium on Carnaby Street, it’s appropriately named Baa-bushka and was designed by Rachel Shilston.

The other Shaun I found was on the ground floor of Hamley’s and, no I didn't know he was in there before I went in, even at 21 I can’t resist a nosey around the world’s largest toy store. This one is called Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom and was designed by Astley Baker Davis.

There are 50 different Shauns dotted around London which have been split into four different routes named after characters from the Shaun the Sheep television series and film: Timmy, Shaun, Bitzer and Shirley routes. This is a great activity if you fancy combining animation with sightseeing and you can find decorated sheep in some of London’s biggest landmarks including St. Paul’s Cathedral, The London Eye and Tower Bridge.
Shaun in the City runs until 25th May, after which the sheep will be removed and 70 different Shauns will be on display throughout Bristol from 6th July-31st August. After that all 120 sheep will be on display in Bristol from 12th-20th September and then London from 24th-27th September. The sheep will then be auctioned for charity on 8th October 2015.
